SheLeadsTech

SheLeadsTech (SLT) is ISACA's diversity programme. On International Women's Day, 8 March 2019, Jenny founded and localised SheLeadsTech Singapore — turning a global initiative into a community shaped around Singapore's needs and centred on female self-leadership.

The story

From the only woman on the board to a movement

SheLeadsTech Singapore began with a simple observation: for years Jenny was the only woman on the ISACA Singapore Chapter board. Rather than accept that as the norm, she built a platform to change it — one that focuses on self-leadership and inclusion rather than on gender alone.

Since 2019 the programme has grown into an award-winning, cross-border female leadership and knowledge-sharing platform. It runs an annual International Women's Day conference, student symposiums, workshops on everything from public speaking to AI literacy and mental wellness, and an ambassador network of women and male allies.

Its most distinctive initiative is the SheLeadsTech Conversion Programme, which Jenny pioneered in 2022 to bring non-IT women into technology governance, risk and compliance careers through training, mentoring, internships and attachments with leading employers. Close to 50 mid-career professionals have made the transition.

The programme's recognition includes the Women Programme of the Year (Asia) award in 2022, and it contributed to the ISACA Singapore Chapter's Outstanding Chapter awards in 2022 and 2025.

“Empowering women in technology begins with empowering individuals to lead themselves, inspire others and create meaningful impact within their communities.”— Dr Jenny Tan, Founder, SheLeadsTech Singapore
