Who should own AI risk: the board, the CIO, the data team — or everyone?

Join the discussionThe AI GRC SG Community is a non-membership, volunteer-run community for practitioners working on the governance, risk and compliance of artificial intelligence. It was co-founded by Dr Bernard Tan, Daniel Ngo, Dr Jenny Tan and Steven Sim Kok Leong, and launched on LinkedIn on 16 August 2026.

The founders share a simple conviction: the people wrestling with AI governance day to day — in audit, risk, security, legal, data and technology — learn fastest from each other. So they created a community by practitioners, for practitioners. There is no membership fee and no formal joining process; anyone interested in AI GRC can take part simply by following or connecting with the community.
For Jenny, the community continues a thread that runs through her ISCA AI Taskforce work, her articles on AI transformation and her board oversight roles: AI creates extraordinary value only when its risks are understood, owned and governed.
Practical approaches to accountability, model ownership and oversight.
Bias, security, privacy and resilience risks in AI systems, and the controls that work.
Navigating emerging regulation and building assurance over AI.
Case studies, lessons learned and open discussion among peers.
Governing, auditing and assuring AI: questions for practitioners of every discipline. No account needed: add your name and share your view.
