Dr Jenny Tan is an executive leader in technology governance, risk management, internal audit and digital trust. Over more than two decades she has moved between professional services, corporate leadership, academia and volunteer leadership — and has used each vantage point to make technology safer, more trusted and more inclusive.
Jenny began her career as a software engineer before moving into IT audit, advisory and risk. As a Risk Assurance Partner at PwC she led the firm's IT Audit & Advisory and Business Resilience practices, advising boards and management on technology governance, cybersecurity, data privacy and resilience. Today she is Chief Audit Executive at CapitaLand Investment, leading a global internal audit practice — including IT audit — across a real estate and fund management group, and reimagining and digitalising how audit is done.
Her volunteer leadership is just as significant. Jenny joined the board of the ISACA Singapore Chapter around 2015 and, for years, was the only woman on it. In 2019 she founded SheLeadsTech Singapore, and in 2023 she became the first woman President of the chapter in more than forty years of its history. In December 2025 she was appointed the first woman Chair of the Institute of Risk Management (IRM) Singapore Group, and in 2026 she co-founded the AI GRC SG Community, a practitioner-led community for AI governance, risk and compliance.
Jenny serves as a Board and Audit Committee member of the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) and a Board and Finance Committee member of the School of the Arts (SOTA). She is an Adjunct Professor with the Singapore Management University (SMU) School of Accountancy, a Visiting Professor with Tamkang University and National Taiwan Normal University in Taiwan, a member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants' AI Taskforce (AI Solutions Sub-Committee), of the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore's Professionalisation Advisory Group and of the Infocomm Media Development Authority's (IMDA) Digital for Life Programme Steering Committee.
The principles behind the work
Walk the talk
Vision only matters when it becomes action. Jenny is known for turning ideas into programmes, communities and measurable outcomes — from the SheLeadsTech Conversion Programme to the transformation of audit functions.
Risk is human
Technology rarely fails on its own. Jenny champions human risk management: understanding behaviour, culture and decision-making as the real levers of cybersecurity and resilience.
Doing good professionally
Success means giving time, knowledge and care to others. Mentoring, teaching and volunteering are not side projects — they are part of the job.
Stay humble, keep learning
Confidence tempered by integrity, resilience built through self-leadership, and a lifelong commitment to learning and adapting.
